Chesneys The Regence Fireplace Surround

A beautiful example of a French chimneypiece from the Rococo period: around 1750. It displays the sinuous lines that characterise the movement of Rococo design. Manufactured in statuary marble, the execution of this chimneypiece with its free form carving is a test of the carver’s art.
